Sack the Juggler 2022
Forreston Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc from Forreston, in the Northern quarter of the Adelaide Hills, grown organically by the Cameron family at Lansdowne.
It’s a slow & long growing season in Forreston, with some very cold nights which help to retain some great acid. We quickly fell in love with Sauvy from this block. This time round the fruit had 5 days on skins, before being racked & pressed into 2 old barriques, a new Jura oak puncheon, a 900L egg & a stainless steel tank.
After finishing ferment in oak/egg/tank, it was rested on lees for a further 10 months & bottled in January of 2023.
It’s quite a textural wine, but it’s not an orange wine.
Floral, zesty & quite moreish. A favorite from the 2022
vintage.
